So I've known Stephane (pronounced 'Stefon') since childhood. Long enough that if I looked in my parents albums I could find those classic blackmail photos! Kya, I met in high-school, she was a year younger than me and if I remember correctly one of the cheerleaders for my football team. Who would have thought that years later two people from my past would be getting married - pretty cool!

When they told us they wanted to do their engagement session at the National Arboretum (the location of their proposal) we were delighted with excitement! Its too bad that NA doesn't allow weddings at the Capitol Columns, because Kristiaan and I would definitely have ours there!

Stay tuned for Kya & Stephane's wedding very soon!

Enjoy the pics :)

Emily & Chris: "Jab-cross!"

Being wedding photographers is cool because we sort of tend to become friends with our clients - they love us, we love them - it's a big love fest. But imagine how big the fest is when the clients are already our friends??!! Emily has been there from the beginning... we went to photography school together and she was there during the time that I first met Lionel and she was also there when we started EyeWonder Photography. Pretty big firsts I'd say. So of course we couldn't be more honored to photograph her wedding to Chris this October. What is SO great about Emily and Chris is that they do really weird and wacky stuff together which leads to a lot of smiling and laughing - kind of like Lionel and are together. It makes us feel somewhat normal. :-)

Nose biting, "jab-cross"ing, and a strange activity where they challenge one another by pulling their noses and sniffing loudly are just some of what we witnessed during their engagement session. We encouraged them to try one of our favorites, talking in each others mouths - you know, so it echos when you talk?! So fun! Anyway, now that you know the real L+K and E+C, let's talk about these photos...

If you haven't visited the National Cathedral or the adjacent gardens in Washington DC, it is an absolute must see. Serene, beautiful, and one of the many spots that Chris used to propose to Emily. It's also located conveniently across the street from their apartment and they meander there often. These two are clearly made for one another and I see many happy years of fun, laughter, and love ahead for them....
